Herb Fromm receives Research Award

Dr. Herbert Fromm, distinguished professor of biochemistry, biophysics, and molecular biology, was recognized on Tuesday, April 3, 2007. The ISU Chapter of Gamma Sigma Delta presented Herb with the Mission Award of Merit for his exceptional contributions to ISU through his research efforts.

Dr. Fromm's research is designed to determine how enzymes act as catalysts and how are they regulated at the molecular level. In pursuing these goals, Dr. Fromm uses a variety of techniques including enzyme kinetics, nuclear magnetic resonance, and gene cloning. His laboratory is currently studying the structure/function relationship of three enzymes.
