The following facilities are located in the Molecular Biology
Building.
- Biomolecular
Structure Facility
Instrumentation for NMR spectroscopy, Xray diffraction, and
EPR spectroscopy.
- Metabolomics
Research Facility
Instrumentation for global metabolite analysis including electrospray
MS-MS, capillary electrophoresis, etc.
- Protein Facility
Instruments for protein analysis including amino acid content, sequence,
MALDI-TOF, Typhoon imager, etc.
- Cell
and hybridoma Facility
Advanced cell sorting, fluorescence microscopy, FRET, monoclonal
antibody production and screening service.
- DNA Sequencing and
Synthesis
In-house sequencing, oligo synthesis, and more - fast, convenient,
and inexpensive.
- Electron Microscopy Facility
Transmission EM, scanning EM and light microscopy.
- Office
of Biotechnology Instrumentation Facilities
The Office of Biotechnology
supports numerous other instrumentation facilities located elsewhere
at ISU. These include confocal microscopy and image analysis, fermentation,
Affymetrix reader service, DNA microarray construction and reading,
proteomics, plant transformation, transgenic animals, and more.
