Congratulations to Distinguished Professor Don Beitz for his selection to receive the 2021 Alumni Service Award!  This award recognizes ISU alumni and friends whose self-initiated activities and service consistently support the daily work of the ISU Alumni Association in further connecting alumni, students, and friends to the university.  We all know of the amazing work that Don does in keeping in touch with our current and former students, and how he promotes a true sense of ISU community both in Ames and across the entire country. (Go Cyclones!!)  As just one example, Don organizes social get-togethers at national society meetings to bring ISU alums together to re-connect and share their old and recent experiences.  His sincere care for our students does not stop at graduation, but continues well beyond!  We cannot think of anyone who is more deserving of an Alumni Service Award, so the department is delighted that your efforts and contributions are being recognized with this prestigious honor!  Thank you, Don, for all that you do!
