Paiton McDonald, BBMB senior in Biochemistry (CALS), has been selected for the prestigious Wallace E. Barron Award.

This award, established 54 years ago by the ISU Alumni Association, is conferred to outstanding ISU seniors who display high character, outstanding achievement in academics and university/community activities, and promise for continuing these exemplary qualities as alumni.

McDonald plans to graduate in Spring '22 in Biochemistry (CALS) and International Agriculture with minors in Pharmacology-Toxicology and Microbiology. She currently serves as Co-Chair of the Stupka Undergraduate Research Symposium, Undergraduate Research Assistant in the McGill lab, Undergraduate Teaching Assistant in the Chemistry Department, and a '21-22 Stupka Scholar. She is also a 2021 Barry Goldwater Scholar and will be presenting her research at the 2022 Stupka Symposium.

This year, seven ISU seniors will be recognized with this award. McDonald and the other six awardees will be featured in an upcoming edition of VISIONS, the ISU Alumni Association magazine.
