Xinyu defended her thesis: "Compartment-specific metabolism associated with acetyl-CoA and acyl carrier protein" May 29. She took the post-doctoral research associate position at Plant Research Laboratory with Dr. Berkley Walker at Michigan State University.
PhD Research project summary: Investigating the dynamics of acetyl-CoA metabolism in plants
Hometown: Nanchang, China. Research interests: plant genetics, biochemistry, isotope-assisted metabolomics. Likes best about working with the Nikolau group: The diversified research fields, friendly working atmosphere and well-established resources. Fun fact: During my Master's study at SCAU, I did many research in a nice campus orchard, where I gained a passion for plant science. One of the fun things was to have picnics there with my teammates and look for the season's best fruits.
