I am a computer science engineer with a master's degree, focusing on the comprehensive analysis of proteins through the study of protein sequences to infer crucial information regarding homology, structure, and function. To achieve this, I have utilized advanced protein language models, which are deep learning models specifically designed to comprehend the intricate "grammar" of protein sequences. Leveraging these models, I successfully developed a highly efficient homology detection tool called PROST, surpassing existing tools based on sequence alignment by accurately identifying remote homologs.
At present, my primary objective is to employ PROST for the investigation of uncharacterized proteins. Through this process, I aim to shed light on their functional attributes and gain deeper insights into their underlying mechanisms.
